Vincenza “Dolly” Koehler

Vincenza “Dolly” Koehler, 93, of Carlisle and Shippensburg, Penn., passed away suddenly and peacefully on Friday, February 28, 2020, at The Episcopal Home, Shippensburg. Dolly was born December 23, 1926, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to the late Luigi and Antionette (Angelillo) Barone.

Dolly enjoyed fashion design, sewing, gardening, making pressed flower pictures and wedding invitations, the excitement of current events, the ocean, and woodlands. She worked as a Real Estate Broker on Long Island, New York, and formerly owned and operated Newtown Country Shops in Newtown, Connecticut, and The Hodge Podge Shop in Carlisle. She loved retail, and the people she met through that work were often nourished by her open heart and willingness to listen to their stories. She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church in Carlisle and St Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Shippensburg.

Dolly is survived by one daughter, Jeanine Goodwin, of Carlisle; one son, Mark (wife Joy), of Wolcott, Connecticut; four grandchildren, Joshua, David, Rebecca, and Timothy; and three great-grandchildren, Thomas, Conrad, and Nicolaus.

CANCELED: Her Celebration of Life with Eucharist will be held on Saturday, March 21, at 2 in the afternoon at St Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Shippensburg, where all are welcome at God’s table. A reception in the Parish Life Center behind the Sanctuary will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions make be made to The Second Presbyterian Church, 528 Garland Drive, Carlisle PA 17013; or The Episcopal Home, 206 East Burd Street, Shippensburg PA 17257.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
