Healing Conference On March 17

DANBURY — “Forgiveness is Healing,” the second annual conference in Christian Healing sponsored by the Oratory of the Little Way, will be held at the Danbury Hilton & Towers on Saturday, March 17, from 9 am to 5 pm.

The guest speakers will be the Rev Dr Arthur Caliandro, Bear Grylls, and Nigel Mumford.

Rev Caliandro is rector of the Marble Colligiate Church in New York City. He succeeded Dr Norman Vincent Peale in October 1984. He is the author of the books Simple Steps, 1999, and Make Your Life Count, 1980.

Bear Grylls became at age 23 the youngest Briton to climb Mt Everest. A few years before, he had broken his back in a parachuting accident in Africa, almost severing his spinal cord, and narrowly averting being paralyzed for life. He is the author of Facing Up, an account of his journey on Mt Everest, which is on the best-seller list.

Nigel Mumford is the director of the Divine Healing Mission at the Oratory of the Little Way in Gaylordsville. He was commissioned a full-time minister of healing under the auspices of the Connecticut Episcopal Diocese in 1996. He is the author of Heartfelt Prayers for Healing, 1998, and Hand to Hand from Combat to Healing, 2001. He is also the author and narrator of Relaxation and Healing Prayer, available on CD or cassette. His latest CD, Just Say the Word and I Shall Be Healed, will be available at the conference.

This conference is a fundraiser for the Healing Mission at the Oratory. Advance reservation with suggested donation of $50 is required. To receive a reservation form, call 860/354-8294 or go to the Web site www.cysol.com/oratory.

The oratory of the Little Way was established in 1965 and includes an eight-bed retreat house and chapel.
