He began his career working at the lab at St Vincent’s Hospital before moving to Danbury Hospital, where he worked a variety of jobs for 37 years. Mr Costa was an avid New York Yankees fan and was eagerly anticipating the start of this year’s season. He loved travel and tropical breezes. You could always find him by the pool, eternally tan.

He enjoyed his grandchildren to the fullest, never missing anything they participated in, whether it was a sporting or school event. They were his greatest pride.

Pallisco, and her husband Vincent, of Sherman; four cherished grandchildren; a brother, John Costa, and his wife Janet, of Fairfield; and several nieces and nephews survive Mr Costa. He was also the proud uncle of his late nephew, Ralph.

A celebration of his life, on what would have been his 75th birthday, took place March 1. Burial was at St John Cemetery, Norwalk.
