Addressing Collections:

The History Of Textiles

WOODBURY — Costume and textile dealer Titi Halle will speak at First Congregational Church of Woodbury on Sunday, March 18, at 4 pm, as part of the Glebe House Museum/Gertrude Jekyll Garden winter lecture series. Admission is $12 per person.

Ms Halle will present “Addressing Collections: The Influence of a Pioneer Dealer in Costumes and Textiles.”

Cora Ginsburg, an antiques textile collector and dealer, acquired materials that have been added to the finest museum and private collections. Such collections help historians and hobbyists understand the social, economic and aesthetic history of the 17th, 18th and 19th Centuries.

Ms Halle worked for Mrs Ginsburg for 18 years before Mrs Ginsburg’s retirement and has continued her work as owner of Cora Ginsburg, LLC. Ms Halle has been a guest appraiser on PBS’ Antiques Road Show. Locally she was a guest curator with dress designer Linda Allard for GunN Historical Museum’s (Washington, CT) exhibit “The Discerning Eye,” and she delivered her program about Mrs Ginsburg at the prestigious Colonial Williamsburg Antiques Forum in February.

For further information on this or upcoming lectures in the winter series, call the Glebe House at 203/263-2855. First Congregational Church is at 214 Main Street/Route 6.
