Danbury Hospital Program Looks At

Carbohydrates And Diabetes

DANBURY — The Diabetes Club of Danbury, a support group for people with diabetes, their families and friends, conducts a monthly guest speakers program at Danbury Hospital. The next meeting of the Diabetes Club of Danbury takes place on Monday, March 15, from 7:30 to 9 pm.

The featured guest speaker will be Linda Martinez, diabetes educator at the Danbury Hospital Endocrine and Diabetes Center, 235 Main Street. Ms Martinez will discuss “High Carb/Low Carb/No Carb: What Works for Diabetes Management.”

The Diabetes Club of Danbury meets at Danbury Hospital on the third Monday of most months. Support group meetings takes place in the back of the cafeteria located on the third floor of the South Building, from 7:30 to 9 pm.

The goal of the free monthly programs is to provide continuous up-to-date information and education regarding the day-to-day management of diabetes. Robert Ruxin, MD, Danbury Hospital Department of Medicine, Section of Internal Medicine, serves as the medical director of the Diabetes Club of Danbury.
