15th Annual DRCAC Fundraiser Will Continue To Help Stop Child Abuse

DANBURY — The chance to help stop child abuse in the greater Danbury region will come on Saturday, March 27, when The Danbury Regional Child Advocacy Center (DRCAC) hosts its 15th Annual Dinner Dance & Auction at The Amber Room.

The event will feature live music by The Clark Eno Orchestra and more than 100 popular auction items including a James Taylor-Carole King Tanglewood weekend, New York City theater getaways, a cruise, an African safari, Ridgefield BMW rental, sports tickets and memorabilia, restaurant gift certificates and wine tastings, gift certificates to local salons and spas, and more. In addition, Attorney General Richard Blumenthal will auction a surprise item.

The nonprofit DRCAC has been preventing child abuse and neglect since 1976 in more than a dozen area towns, from Ridgefield to New Milford. Last year more than 1,200 residents of Fairfield and Litchfield Counties received prevention and intervention services. Through home visitation and education, DRCAC staff, working with families, schools, doctors, the Department of Children and Families, and law enforcement, achieve excellent results, preventing child abuse and enabling families to stay together.

When one considers that 78 percent of adults in prisons were abused as children, the urgency to support the DRCAC is clear. Bidding on auction items translates directly into keeping families healthy and building safer communities.

Tickets are $75 and can be reserved by calling DRCAC at 203-748-4542 before March 12.

Auction sponsorship opportunities are still available, as well. Contact DRCAC for additional information.
