Free Art Therapy Sessions Offered To Cancer Patients

TRUMBULL — The Norma F. Pfriem Cancer Institute at Bridgeport Hospital will sponsor “Creative Expression for Your Mind, Body and Spirit,” free art therapy sessions for cancer patients, their families and caregivers, Tuesdays, March 9 and 16, 5:30 to 7:30 pm, and Saturday, March 27, 10 am to noon.

The Norma F. Pfriem Cancer Institute at Bridgeport Hospital is approved with commendation by the American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer as a Teaching Hospital Cancer Program.

The Cancer Institute delivers care to more than 1,000 newly diagnosed cancer patients each year — more than any other hospital in Fairfield County. A member of the Yale-New Haven Cancer Network, the Norma F. Pfriem Cancer Institute offers an array of diagnostic, treatment, and support services and serves as a leader in cancer education for professionals and the public.

The Cancer Institute also has a Patient Navigator Program that provides patients and their families with support and guidance through diagnosis, treatment, and recovery, as well as referrals to hospital and community resources.

The sessions will take place at 5520 Park Avenue, and light refreshments will be served. Space is limited and registration is required. Call 203-384-3904.
