Joycelyn Kowats, 44, beloved wife of Donald J. Kowats, Jr, of Newtown, died unexpectedly February 25, at her home. She was born in Bridgeport, December 3, 1965, a daughter of Gerald Cavaliere of Newtown and the late Linda (Roe) Cavaliere.

Ms Kowats was a teacher at Misty Morning Daycare Center in Newtown. She was an active member of AA.

 Joycelyn enjoyed spending time with her family and boating.

In addition to her husband and her father, her daughters, Sarah Lyn and Kristina Lyn Kowats; and her stepmother, Merrilee Currier, survive her. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Stephanie Lyn Kowats; and by two brothers, Gerald Cavaliere, Jr, and Jeffrey Cavaliere.

Funeral Services were March 2, in the Honan Funeral Home, Newtown. Interment followed in Resurrection Cemetery, Newtown.
