Lasko, Jr

World War II Veteran

Julius J. Lasko, Jr, 85, of Bridgeport, formerly of Fairfield, died March 1. Born and raised in Fairfield, Mr Lasko was a Bridgeport resident for many years. He was a veteran of World War II, stationed in the Pacific area of operations, and flew many missions.

Three daughters, including Katrina Lasko Padillo of Newtown; one brother; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a dear friend and companion, Cathy Rinaldi, survive Mr Lasko.

He was employed as a toolmaker at Bead Chain Mfg Co, and was named sales manager of Bead Chain Division. He retired with more than 50 years of service. He served as president of the Bead Chain Employees Council and president of the Bead Chain 25-Year Club. He was active in the Connecticut Association of Manufacturing and the Bridgeport Industrial Association of Manufacturing.

After retiring, he became assistant manager of the Discovery Store, manager of International Cutlery, and assistant manager of Godiva Chocolates.

Mr Lasko was active in sports.

Calling hours were scheduled for Thursday, March 4, from 4 to 7 pm, in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road in Fairfield Center, with a prayer service at 6 pm, officiated by the Reverend Paul Whitmore.
