NMS Students Attend Science Horizons Science Fair

Newtown Middle School students who attended the Science Horizons 2010 Competition, held at Western Connecticut State University February 19 through 21, were partners Amy Lee Anyoha and Daisy Zheng, Jack Benedict, partners Noelle Benson and Mary Joe Rossi, partners Sam Boland and Matt Rosa, partners Amanda Cirella and Rachel Krehel, partners Amanda Crowell and Jenny Indelicato, Amisha Dave, Bethany Dubois, partners Jamie Duncan and Jillian Vazquez, Jillianne Lyon, partners Nicole Mendonca and Madison Woodard, Taylor Stroili, and Brandon Unger.

More than 800 students from around the region competed at the Science Horizons Science Fair.

Finalists in the fair from NMS were Bethany Dubois in the Individual Junior Biological category, Amisha Dave with a partner from Danbury in the Junior Biological Team category, and Sam Boland and Matt Rosa in the Junior Physical Science Team category.

Bethany Dubois earned first place in her division and will continue on to the state science fair in March.
