Discovery Celebration Will Highlight Women’s History Month

BRIDGEPORT — The Discovery Museum’s continuing Sunday Celebrations series will highlight Women’s History Month on Sunday, March 12. From 2 to 5 pm, music, art and a special hands-on multi-media workshop will celebrate the month of March, which has been designated Women’s History Month.

Beginning at 2 pm, youngsters age 5 and up will create a multi-media project on “Women in Mythology” with artist Rita Thornton.

A performance of world folk music by Victoria Christgau with As the Crow Flies and Sister Sound will begin at 3:30 pm. The performance will emphasize the environment with storytelling and the sounds of whales, birds and other animals.

The museum is one mile south of Exit 47 off the Merritt Parkway; signs are posted. Hours are Tuesday through Sunday, 10 am to 5 pm; and Sunday, noon to 5 pm. For more information, call 203/372-3521.
