A Late Night Swim
Police charged four youths with first-degree criminal trespassing late on the night of March 8, following an incident at the Newtown High School swimming pool.
Police said the night supervisor of the maintenance crew called police about 10:45 pm to report that several youths had been found in the building without authorization.
The youths had been found swimming in the schoolâs swimming pool after the building had been closed to the public, police said.
The four males do not attend the high school, and three of the four had been formally notified that they were not wanted on school grounds, police said.
Charged each with first-degree criminal trespassing were Adam J. Samuels, 18, of 128 Hanover Road; Christopher D. Hicks, Jr, 18, of 43-A Botsford Hill Road; Robert E. Coffey, 17, of 238 Berkshire Road; and William J. Versace, 17, of Naugatuck.
All four youths were released on promises to appear in Danbury Superior Court March 23.
