Creative Wellspring Series

Continues With April Programs

The Creative Wellspring series facilitated by Ginger Humeston of Newtown will feature yoga instructor Rose Bergen and dream therapist Anita Hall in April.

The programs will be held April 11 and 25 from 7:30 to 9 pm in the meeting room of the C.H. Booth Library.

Ms Bergen, who has been studying and teaching yoga for over 25 years, will lead the Creative Wellspring workshop on April 11.

The program will show participants how to use the breath in order to find the vital rest needed to help clarify, awaken, enlighten, expand, and sustain their lives. This will be an experiential journey, so no one should be intimidated. There are no restrictions, and everyone can do it, according to Ms Bergen.

She suggests that participants wear casual and comfortable clothes.

She quotes Thomas Merton, a Trappist monk, who wrote, “The bravest thing a person can do is rest.”

Women looking for a sense of peace to stay healthy in this stress-filled, modern world are invited to join the group for a creative pilgrimage into the world of inner space, where they will find inner strength, and the time to accomplish all the things they need to do.

Ms Hall, a psychotherapist who specializes in dream therapy, will lead the April 25 session.

She encourages participants to keep a pad and pencil by their bedsides for several days before the workshop, and at the moment they wake up, to write down what they were thinking about, because they are asked to bring a dream to the session.

Dreams bring out creativity, help solve problems, and enable people to make decisions, according to Ms Hall. During the process, participants will learn their own dream language.

“Since 1958, extensive research has been done validating dream therapy and the value of our dreams,” Ms Hall said.

Ms Hall, MA, is a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Rhode Island. A longtime practitioner of dream work, she has studied with many notable theorists. She has been in private practice in Westport since 1985.

Her clients include celebrities, business people, youth group teens, therapists, and many soul-searching individuals. As a member of the Association for the Study of Dreams, she has traveled internationally to its conferences, keeping abreast of the latest dream research and applications. She is editor and publisher of Dream Weaver, a newsletter devoted to the realm of dreams. For the past ten years she has led spiritual journeys to Arizona, where she facilitates self-awareness dream seminars.

Participants of these programs are asked to bring a journal to keep a record of their experiences.

To participate in either or both programs, register in person at the library or by calling 426-4533.

Anyone interested in forming a weekly dream group, “Wise Women Dreaming,” should call Ginger Humeston at 426-6650.
