St Rose Top Invention Convention Students Heading To State

St Rose of Lima School recently named its top winners from its round of the Invention Convention, and the top contenders will head to the state level of the competition.

The Invention Convention at St Rose began on February 27, with judges evaluating student projects.

The top six winners from the school level were honored at the school on March 5 with their projects. Three winners were named from fifth grade and three winners were named from fourth grade.

Fifth grade first place went to Lela Desta-Liben for “Shopper Saver,” second place went to Adrianna Kari for “Soccer Zip Guard,” and third place went to Jolie Malo for “String Bling Gloves.”

Fourth grade first place went to Liam Kirkman for “Zipper Guard,” second place went to Tomas Almeida for “Super Laces,” and third place went to Oscar Nordt for a “Pro Swing Band.”

Liam and Lela, as the first place winners from each grade, will go on to present their projects the State Invention Convention at the University of Connecticut, Storrs, on May 2.
