Steven M. Bertrand, age 66, of Newtown, died Tuesday, March 17, 2020, at Danbury Hospital.

Mr Bertrand was born May 29, 1953, son of the late Henry “Bert” N. and Althea (Ferry) Bertrand of Danbury.

He worked as an auto parts salesman at D&S Automotive in Bethel, Murray’s Auto Parts in Danbury, Manny’s Auto Parts in Danbury, and Fair Auto of Newtown.

He was an antique car enthusiast and a member of Fairfield County Street Rods Danbury, Candlewood Street Rods, and The National Street Rod Association. He enjoyed exhibiting his classic cars and attending many different car shows and especially frequented the Sycamore Diner car shows in Bethel on Saturday evenings.

Mr Bertrand is survived by his siblings Alan J. Bertrand of Jensen Beach, Fla., Laureen M. Bertrand and her partner, Elijah Williams, of Waterbury, Kathleen A. Bertrand-Hurley and husband, William, of Newtown; two nephews and one niece, Austin and Althea Hurley and Elgine Bertrand-Williams; two aunts; and nine cousins.

Mr Bertrand’s funeral services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.

The Cornell Memorial Funeral Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, is in charge of arrangements.
