*Wilton High School will be hosting a concert this weekend by THREE DOG NIGHT. The band is reportedly performing a benefit concert for Wilton’s Trackside Teen Center. Tickets are hefty – at $80 and $100 – and reservations are suggested.

A silent auction will begin at 7, and the show will be starting at 8. Fairfield County band FUTURE TENSE will have the opening set.

*It’s already been a big year for FALL OUT BOY. The Chicago-based band has been named one of the Ten Artists To Watch by Rolling Stone, and has been picked by MTV as One Of The Bands To Watch in 2005.

Now that the band has completed work on its major label debut album, From Under The Cork Tree, Alternative Press has already named it one of the Most Anticipated Releases of 2005 in its Most Anticipated issue (released in January). Produced by Neal Avron (New Found Glory, Everclear and Yellowcard), the band has hit the road on its Fueled By Ramen Tour that arrives in Hartford on April 22. Fall Out Boy will be headlining at The Webster Theatre that evening, following sets by Gym Class Heroes and The Academy Is…

The Webster’s website also mentions REGGIE AND THE FULL EFFECT on the roster that night. Not bad for a $15 ticket.

Following the seven-week, 38-city tour, Fall Out Boy will hook up with the 2005 Vans Warped Tour, also moving into a Main Stage slot for that summer fest. The closest Vans Warped Tour stop right now is August 13 at Randalls Island in New York.

*Speaking of The Webster, GOLDFINGER’S May 1 has been postponed. The band will now, according to its website, be performing in Montreal that night.

*SOPHIE B. HAWKINS is returning to Hartford, on May 19, to play a show at The Webster Underground. Tickets for that show are $20.

*And also in the Webster vein, I see that the EDWIN McCAIN show, with JEFFREY GAINES opening, that will be in New Haven at Toad’s Place on June 9 will also be making a stop at The Webster, on June 15. The Toad’s Place show will be on my birthday, for anyone who’s keeping track.

*SIDESHOW has reformed for at least one show. The band will be part of The Funbags Productions Showcase this weekend at The Thirsty Turtle in Stamford. An 11-band show will be the highlight of Sunday, April 3; SideShow’s 20-minute set will start at 7 pm.

*The Meadows Music Centre in Hartford is getting ready for summer: Tickets for the annual shows by DAVE MATTHEWS BAND are going on sale this weekend. This year’s concerts will be Saturday and Sunday, June 18-19.

Tickets have been priced at $40.50 and $58 and will be going on sale Saturday, April 2, at 10 am.

Next weekend tickets will be going on sale for JAMES TAYLOR, who will be in Hartford on Friday, June 17. Tickets for that show are going to run from $20 (presumably for the lawn area) to $65, and will be going on sale at 10 am on April 9.

The weekend after that it’ll be time for OZZFEST tickets. The show will be in Hartford on July 17, and tickets will be available at 10 am on Saturday, April 16, priced from $30.50 to $81.

*HAT CITY BLUES BAND continues to play regularly throughout Fairfield County, with shows coming up at familiar and new locations. The guys will be at The BoxCar in Southport next weekend, The Lodge in Southbury on April 15, The Georgetown Saloon on April 22 and then at a new place for them, 95 North in Norwalk (280 Connecticut Avenue in Norwalk; telephone 203-855-0135).

Additional shows are already planned on May 21, when HCBB performs its 3rd Annual Newtown Youth Services Benefit Concert at Fireside Inn in Newtown; along with just added shows on June 10 at The Lodge and June 18 at The Georgetown Saloon.

Until next week I’ll be seeing you… on the road.

Questions and comments should be sent to Shannon Hicks c/o The Newtown Bee, 5 Church Hill Road, Newtown, CT 06470, or shannon@thebee.com, or call the office at 426-3141.

Shows listed at club locations are for ages 21 and over unless specified.
