House Burglary

Police received a report about 1:19 pm on March 25 about a burglary that had been discovered at a home on Brushy Hill Road, near Dug Hill Road.

Someone broke into the house by forcing open a rear window on the building. Several unspecified items were then stolen from the premises, according to police.

Police are asking anyone with knowledge of the crime to contact Detective Daniel McAnaspie or Detective Joseph Joudy at the police station at 203-426-5841.

Digital Device

On March 24, a silver-colored Apple-brand iPod digital device was found near some playground equipment at Dickinson Park. The owner is believed to be a resident of Taunton Lake Road. The owner may claim the device by identifying it at the police station at 3 Main Street, police said.

Warrant

After learning that police held a warrant for his arrest, Forest Gajdosik, 29, of 10 Locust Drive went to the police station about 8 pm on March 25 and was charged with evading responsibility and with failure to drive to the right, police said.

Police said that the charges stem from a February 22 motor vehicle accident.

At about 11:30 pm on February 22, Gajdosik was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Blazer SUV eastward near 86 Riverside Road, when he struck a snowbank alongside the road’s westbound shoulder, according to police. The vehicle then crossed back over the road and went off the eastbound shoulder, striking a stone wall, according to police.

On March 25, after processing the case, police released Gajdosik on $100 bail for an April 6 arraignment on the charges in Danbury Superior Court.

Warrant

Police said that while on patrol about 10:34 pm on March 26, they stopped a motorist on South Main Street, near Mile Hill Road, because the vehicle being driven had a defective headlamp.

Police said that they then learned that the front-seat passenger in that vehicle was Frank W. McClain, Jr, 44, of Bridgeport, for whom Bridgeport police held an outstanding arrest warrant.

Police charged McClain with first-degree failure to appear in court and with third-degree burglary.

Police said that they held McClain on $10,000 bail for a March 28 court appearance on the charges.

DUI Case

While on patrol about 8:40 pm on March 27, police said they stopped motorist Arthur Bauer, 63, of 64 Glen Road for driving faster than the posted speed limit on Wasserman Way, near Trades Lane.

Police said they performed field sobriety tests on Bauer, after which they charged him with driving under the influence and with traveling too fast.

Bauer was released on $100 bail for an April 12 court appearance on the charges, police report.

Charter Ridge Incident

Motorist Mark Gregoire, 49, of 7 Rockywood Drive, who was driving a 2004 Volvo S-80 sedan northward on Charter Ridge Drive at about 1:10 pm March 25, drove off the right road shoulder and traveled into the yard at 68 Charter Ridge Drive, striking several objects there, police said.

The Volvo continued moving and then entered the yard at 70 Charter Ridge Drive, causing minor damage there, police said.

The impacts heavily damaged the Volvo, police said. Gregoire was transported to Danbury Hospital to be treated for minor injuries, police said. The incident is under investigation.

Sandy Hook Crash

Motorist Lautaro Alvarez, 39, of 276 Berkshire Road was driving a 2008 Toyota Tundra pickup truck eastward on Berkshire Road, near Stone Bridge Trail, about 7:27 pm on March 26 and then slowed for traffic conditions, after which the Toyota was struck from behind by eastbound motorist Galo Loglisci, 23, of Monroe, who was driving a 2004 Mitsubishi Galant sedan, police said.

There were no injuries. Police said they issued Loglisci a written warning for following too closely.

DUI Arrest

Police report that they stopped motorist Matthew Taylor, 20, of 24 Scudder Road to investigate at about 12:51 am on March 26 on Mt Pleasant Road.

Following the investigation, police charged Taylor with driving under the influence, making a restricted turn, and failure to drive to the right on a curve.

After processing the case, police released Taylor on $100 bail for an April 13 court appearance.

Moving Violations

Police report that they stopped motorist Daniel Warner-Crouch, 20, of 77 Riverside Road for driving 54 miles per hour in a posted 30-mph zone near 95 Toddy Hill Road at about 1:18 am on March 23.

After investigating, police charged Warner-Crouch with traveling too fast and with driving with a suspended license.

Police said they released Warner-Crouch on a written promise to appear on April 5 in Danbury Superior Court.

SUV Crash

Motorist Michelle Dargon, 41, of 6 Ridge Road was driving a 2004 Toyota Sequoia SUV northward on Boggs Hill Road, near Willow Brook Lane, about 1:37 am on March 26, when a deer ran out onto the road, police said.

Dargon veered to the right to avoid colliding with the animal, but the vehicle struck a boulder and a utility pole, police said.

Dargon was not injured. Police took no enforcement.

Pole Bridge Road

Police said that at about 12:21 pm on March 25, they received a report of vandalism at a home on Pole Bridge Road.

Someone had damaged a rear window on a house there, police said. There were no items reported to be missing from the premises, police said.

Berkshire Road

Police report that they stopped motorist Michael Morelli, Jr, 19, of Woodbridge near 68 Berkshire Road about 3:19 pm on March 26 to investigate.

Police said they charged Morelli with failure to display a front marker plate and with driving with a suspended license.

Police said they released Morelli on a written promise to appear on April 13 in Danbury Superior Court.

Castle Hill Road

While on patrol about 10:17 pm March 28, police stopped motorist Stephanie Doris, 20, of Bethel on Castle Hill Road, near its intersection with Taunton Lake Road, to investigate.

Police said they charged Doris with failure to display a front marker plate, driving with a suspended license, and failure to carry automotive documents.

Doris was released on $100 bail for an April 12 court appearance.

Unsafe Backing

Police said that motorist Roland J. Wilson, Jr, 74, of Stratford, who was driving a 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV eastward on Cedar Hill Road about 12:04 pm March 26, stopped at a stop sign at that street’s intersection with South Main Street.

Eastbound motorist Briana True, 22, of Holtsville, N.Y., who was driving a 2009 Toyota Corolla sedan, then stopped behind the Jeep, police said.

The Jeep then backed up, striking the front end of the Toyota, police said.

There were no injuries. Police said they issued Wilson a written warning for unsafe backing.

DUI Warrant

Police report that on March 29 they arrested Kathleen Petretta, 46, of Brookfield on a warrant, lodging charges of driving under the influence and following too closely.

The charges stem from a three-vehicle accident that occurred last October 7 at the intersection of South Main Street, Meadow Brook Road, and Botsford Hill Road, according to police.

After processing the arrest on March 29, police released Petretta on $100 bail for an April 12 court appearance.
