Wildflowers Of New England

John Pawlowski will be the guest speaker for The Town and Country Garden Club of Newtown on Wednesday, April 13, at Newtown Senior Center.

The program, “The Wildflowers of New England,” will include information about Native American and Colonial uses of flowers as well as their ecological importance and informative facts about their role in the environment. Mr Pawlowski will also integrate tips for anyone who is interested in nature photography.

John Pawlowski has been an earth and life science teacher for many years and has worked as a field archaeologist for the Connecticut Archeological Survey during summers. He has also taught classes on topics ranging from wilderness survival to Native American Studies. He is a freelance photographer whose photographs have been featured in numerous national publications.

He is presently president of the Connecticut Machinery Association Museum as well as director of the Connecticut Museum of Mining and Mineral Science.

The program will begin at 7:30 pm, and the public is invited free of charge.
