‘Romeo & Juliet’ In Two Acts & Two Styles

WATERBURY — Connecticut Dance Theatre Inc. (CDT) and Shakesperience Productions, two of member organizations of The Waterbury Arts Roundtable, are collaborating on a gala benefit performance of Romeo & Juliet. Shows will be on Saturday, April 24, at 7 pm, at The Mattatuck Museum in Waterbury.

This top-shelf evening of theatre and ballet will feature performances by each troupe will perform of an adapted version of William Shakespeare’s timeless tale of tragic love. Proceeds of the evening will benefit both non-profit arts organizations.

The evening’s playbill presents the Shakesperience cast first, under producing director Emily Mattina. Dancers will interpret an adapted version of Shakespeare’s original work.

After a brief intermission dancers under the direction of CDT’s artistic director Donna Bonasera will bring to life composer Serge Perkoviev’s Romeo & Juliet ballet, a classic repertoire piece.

 Ticket are $35 for open seating, $50 for reserved priority seating plus a rose favor, and $75 for reserved priority seating, rose favor and listing as patron in program book. All ticket holders are invited to the pre-performance reception that will include refreshments and libations. A champagne raffle is also planned.
