A Taste of Wine, Dinner Will Benefit Planned Dog Park

Residents are invited to enjoy wine, dinner, and a chance to bid on handmade jewelry on Saturday, April 17, during Newtown Park and Bark’s first fundraiser to support plans for an off-leash dog park.

Ruth and Robert Hutchinson will open their home that evening from 6 to 9 pm for a dinner party and silent auction for 50 of Newtown’s dog park enthusiasts. Tickets are going fast, said Dog Park Committee Chairman Kaia Fahrenholz.

Guests can enjoy wines donated by Hometown Wine and Spirits, dine, mingle, and take the opportunity to peruse a selection of handmade jewelry, sterling silver, lapis lazuli and ruby quartz that Ms Hutchinson created.

Proceeds will benefit the proposed Park and Bark dog park, named last year by Chloe Freedman, 8, who won a townwide contest among kindergarten through grade 8 students.

Tickets are $50, and paid reservations are required in advance; call 203-364-0316 or send email to newtownparkandbark@gmail.com.
