Honda Vs Subaru

Police report a two-vehicle accident near 225 South Main Street about 3:32 pm March 12.

Involved in the crash were motorist Anna Chamiec-Paunetto, 18, of 21 Turkey Roost Road, who was driving a 1997 Honda Accord coupe, and motorist Jason Dalton, 23, of Southbury, who was driving a 1998 Subaru Legacy station wagon, police report.

There were no injuries. Police said they issued Chamiec-Paunetto a written warning for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.

Vandalism

Sometime between 8 am on March 27 and 7:30 am on March 28, someone intentionally damaged a curbside residential mailbox at a home on Boggs Hill Road, near its intersection with Palestine Road, according to police. Anyone with knowledge of who committed the criminal mischief is asked to contact Officer John McCluskey at 203-426-5841.

Botsford Collision

About 7:13 pm on March 29, a two-vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of South Main Street, Botsford Hill Road, and Meadow Brook Road.

The collision involved motorist Eric Sippin, 17, of 72 Great Ring Road, who was driving a commercial 2003 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck, and motorist Nasreen Tasker, 46, of Trumbull, who was driving a 2005 Buick Rendezvous, police said.

There were no injuries. Sippin received a written warning for failure to drive to the right, according to police.

Flagpole Crash

About 11:18 am on March 29, motorist Jerry Greaves, 78, of 8 Joan Drive, who was driving a 2005 Dodge Magnum station wagon southward on Main Street, attempted to make a left turn onto eastbound Church Hill Road, but struck the Main Street flagpole with the front end of the Dodge, police said. Greaves was not injured.

Police said Greaves told them that the left front roof pillar of the auto may have obstructed his view of the flagpole. Police issued Greaves a written warning for making an improper turn.
