Pool Memberships

In a continuing effort to streamline operations, summer 2000 pool memberships have been available as of January 3, 2000.  Purchase your pool membership prior to May 1, 2000 to save money..

If you have purchased a pool membership within the last two years, take advantage of mail-in registration. Simply drop the Parks and Recreation Department a note stating that you wish to purchase your pool membership and include the names of each member of your family (must all reside at the same address) and the fee.  Park permits will also be mailed to you, so please include the license plate number of each vehicle (must be registered to the same address and must be on file in our office). If you have purchased a new vehicle, please send a copy of the registration and it will be included in your file.

Unfortunately, new residents cannot take advantage of mail-in. However, if  there is a problem getting to the office, please call for special arrangements.

Membership cards for each member of the family, and park permits for each vehicle will be mailed within five working days. Membership cards must be shown to gain admittance to swim areas, and the park permit must be displayed on the passenger side of the front windshield.

If a member fails to show a card, the daily user fee will be charged. This is non-refundable. Replacement of a lost card will be $1.00 per card. Multiple families living in one household must pay per family.

RESIDENT MEMBERSHIPS – Permits entry to Treadwell Park and to Dickinson Park, which is open to Newtown residents only (non-residents may enter only as a guest of a resident member and pays non-resident daily fee of $10.00 per person, or may enter on a guest pass). If the Parks and Recreation Department is forced to close either swim facility for health and/or safety reasons, the membership fees will not be prorated or refunded.

POOL FEES – Family of up to five will pay $80 prior to May 1, but $90 after (each additional family member over five, add $5 prior to May 1 and $10 after May 1). A resident individual will pay $45 prior to May 1 and $55 after May 1. The non-resident daily fee will be $5 and guest (non-resident) daily fee will be $10.

NON-RESIDENT MEMBERS (Treadwell Pool only) – Family of up to five will pay $160 prior to May 1 and $180 after May 1 (each additional family member over five, add $10 prior to May 1 and $20 after May 1). A non-resident individual will pay $90 prior to May 1 and $110 after May 1. The daily non-resident user fee will be $10.

GUEST PASSES – Guest passes are available only to those who have purchased seasonal memberships. A guest pass allows up to six (6) visits on a card. Resident fee:  $15.00 per card; Non-resident fee: $30.00 per card.

PARK PERMIT – This permit allows Newtown residents to gain admittance to all Newtown parks.  To obtain permits, if you are not in our computer, please bring the registration for each vehicle and your driver’s license to the Parks & Recreation office. All family vehicles must be registered to the same Newtown address.  New residents must bring closing papers, along with their car registration and driver’s license.  There is no charge for a Park Permit.

LAKE LILLINONAH BOAT LAUNCH – Vehicles will not be permitted entry without a park permit and a boat launch pass. Car and boat registrations must be shown the first time a pass is purchased. Fee prior to May 1, 2000 is $30.00 for the season and from May 1, 2000 on will be $40.00 for the season.  This park is open to Newtown residents only.
