RTC Seeks To Fill Openings

There are several Republican vacancies that need to be filled on the following boards and commissions:

*Building Appeals Board — one vacancy for a five-year term. Each member shall be qualified by experience and training to vote upon matters pertaining to building construction. They meet as needed.

*Commission on Aging — two alternates for a two-year term. This commission meets on the third Monday of the month. This commission attends to the needs of the elderly and aging in Newtown.

*Charter Communications Advisory Council — one member, indeterminate term.

*Constable — one vacancy, two-year term.

*Lake Lillinonah Authority — one vacancy, three-year term. This authority meets on the first Tuesday of the month.

*Public Building and Site Commission — alternate, four-year term. This commission, which meets on the fourth Tuesday of the month, shall have control of supervision and construction of building projects; new construction and alterations as well. Members should have experience and training in some aspect of the construction process.

*Board of Assessment Appeals — one member, four-year term. This board hears appeals from tax payers who feel their assessments are not accurate.
