Marion Killoran Payne

Former Nursing Attendant At Margaret Ford Cottage

Marion Killoran Payne, 100, of Stratford, died peacefully April 3, at the Connecticut Hospice in Branford. Born October 3, 1911, in Stratford, she was a daughter of William and Pauline Bratz Burstein.

Her four devoted daughters and their spouses, including Barbara K. Oravez and her husband William of Newtown; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; her sister, Shirley O’Brien; and several nieces and nephews survive Mrs Payne. She was predeceased by her first husband, Thomas Andrew Killoran in 1961, and was also predeceased by her husband George Payne.

Mrs Payne was a nursing attendant for the Margaret Ford Cottage, which was controlled by the City of Bridgeport, for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed cooking for her family and traveling, and had a love for animals. She was a member of the St Paul’s Lutheran Ladies Guild.

Funeral services took place April 5. Interment will follow in St Michael’s Cemetery, Stratford.
