Melissa Eide and Mark Bilotta

Steven Eide of Newtown announces the engagement of his daughter, Melissa Stephanie Eide, also of Newtown, to Mark Donato Bilotta of Naugatuck, son of Darla and Donato Bilotta of Pittsfield, Mass.

Melissa is also the daughter of the late Madeleine Eide.

She attended Newtown High School, and graduated from New Hope Christian Academy in 2003. She then graduated from Western Connecticut State University in 2007, having earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education.

She is a teacher for Faith Preparatory.

Mark is a 2001 graduate of Taconic High School, and a member of the Class of 2005 from Westfield State College, where he earned a bachelor’s of music education. He then earned his master’s of music from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, graduating in 2011.

Mark is a middle school band teacher for Shelton Public Schools. He is also a member of the United States Army Reserves.

The couple is planning a June 2012 wedding.
