Protect The Pollinators: Please Don’t Spray

To the Editor:

On April 7, Newtown Pollinator Pathways suggested that we make our town safe for bees and other pollinators so necessary for plants. Fish and birds also rely on these insects.

At least six brochures have arrived in my mailbox from exterminators such as Mosquito Squad, Natural Lawn of America, TLC: The Lawn Company, and Tick Ranger, who are eager to spray with insecticides that kill pollinators/ insects.

I urge you not to use sprays or chemical fertilizers on your lawn or around your house.

To do so kills what is so necessary to the health of our community.

Sincerely,

Patricia Barkman
