Riverside Thefts

Police said that in recent days there have been several thefts of valuable items from within unlocked, parked vehicles in the Alpine Drive-Underhill Road area of the Riverside section at Lake Zoar.

Police ask anyone with knowledge of the crimes to contact Officer Steve Siecienski at the police station at 3 Main Street, telephone 203-426-5841.

Police urge residents to keep their vehicles locked when unattended.

DUI Warrant

After learning that police held a warrant for her arrest, Monica V. Gallegos-Escobar, 45, of Trumbull went to the police station on the afternoon of April 9 and was charged with driving under the influence and with making a restricted turn in connection with a one-vehicle accident that occurred last November 2.

Police have said that Gallegos-Escobar was driving a 2010 Audi Q-5 SUV northward near 266 South Main Street at about 2:35 am on November 2, when the vehicle went off the right side of the road, struck a large rock and overturned.

Gallegos-Escobar was transported to Danbury Hospital following that accident for a medical evaluation, police have said.

On April 9, police released her on $2,500 bail for an April 24 court appearance.
