The Franse family decided this past weekend to dig out their Easter costumes from a few years back “and drive around the neighborhood waving at kids,” said Heather Franse.

So if you were in the Bennett’s Bridge area of Sandy Hook on Saturday afternoon, April 11, (including Charter Ridge, Mountain Manor, Cobblers Mill, Beckett Village, Yogananda, and Orange Pippin Roads) you may have spotted a well-decorated vehicle and a waving Easter Bunny — and sidekicks of a smaller bunny and a chick — spreading cheer during this most unusual spring season.

“We saw a ton of smiling faces and had a great time,” said Franse, who served as chauffeur. She was joined by husband Scott (Easter Bunny), son Grady (hatching chick), and daughter Edie (baby bunny).

Not only was it fun for the family, added Franse, they loved the thought that their one-car parade could “bring a smile to some other faces in town, too.”

People in the Bennett’s Bridge neighborhood of Sandy Hook may have gotten a wave from this big bunny in the Franse family’s one-car parade.
Scott, Edie, and Grady Franse send greetings to all, dressed up as the spring characters usually found everywhere over the Easter weekend — but this year, not as commonly.
