All are welcome to join a discussion of how racism drains shared resources for all and how investment in community can build a more equitable future for everyone.

Newtown Allies For Change will host a community discussion of the podcast The Sum of Us on Thursday, April 30, from 7 to 8:30 pm, at Newtown Congregational Church, 14 West Street.

Registration is required by April 26 and available through eventbrite.com (search for Podcast Discussion: The Sum of Us, or events by Newtown Action Alliance). Additional information is available via e-mail to takeaction@newtownallies.org.

Those planning to attend are asked to listen to the nine-part The Sum of Us podcast series prior to attending the in-person discussion.

The event will provide a space for thoughtful conversation, reflection, and shared learning. Attendees will explore key themes from the series, including systemic inequality, the impact of policy decisions, and the power of collective investment.

Guests will also be encouraged to share insights, personal reactions, and connections to local or current issues. The goal is to foster meaningful dialogue, deepen understanding, and consider actionable ways to apply these ideas within our own community.

The podcast series is available for free on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, iHeart, or the Higher Ground Productions website.
