April 20 Democratic State Rep Candidate Forum
To The Editor:
Newtown voters have an important opportunity this Monday, April 20, to hear directly from the candidates seeking the Democratic nomination for State Representative in House District 106. The forum will take place at 7pm at the Newtown Community Center.
This event is open to the public! I encourage everyone to attend, regardless of party affiliation, because one of these candidates will be on the ballot in November. This is an early opportunity to engage, ask questions, and better understand the choice ahead.
This forum is especially significant as the first time both Democratic candidates will appear on stage together, answering questions side by side. That kind of direct comparison is rare and valuable. It offers a clear view into how each candidate thinks, leads, and plans to serve Newtown.
Your participation is what will make this event meaningful. Bring the issues that matter most to you and your family. Come ready with thoughtful questions and take full advantage of the opportunity to engage directly with the candidates.
Looking ahead, Newtown Democrats will have the opportunity to vote for Brandon Moore or Michelle Embree Ku at the Democratic Caucus on May 26 at 6pm at the Newtown Middle School auditorium. This forum is a crucial step in that process.
Democracy works best when people show up. And folks, this is the showing up part! I hope to see you there! These comments are my own and not those of the Legislative Council of which I am the Chair.
