To The Editor:

I recently had the chance to meet Brandon Moore for coffee after being introduced by a mutual friend. More recently my husband and I saw him speak at the College Democrats debate, where we were very impressed by the depth of his knowledge and how much he cares.

In Brandon, we immediately saw passion, grit, determination and quickly surmised he has what it takes to make a true impact on our community.

You may hear other candidates point to time spent on boards and commissions and we commend those who have served. However, Brandon’s commitment to public service is deeply authentic. He went from West Point to serving in the Army, defending our freedoms overseas, and then came straight home to serve in Connecticut state government. That is a life built on purpose.

Genuine leadership both in our military and in the Connecticut State Capitol is exactly what the city of Newtown needs.

At a moment when trust in politics is low, Brandon represents something different. He listens, engages and shows up. He represents integrity and progress. He has our vote and we hope he has yours!
