I first met Michelle in early 2022 at a series of "meet and greet" gatherings hosted by the local DTC. As a newcomer to town, I appreciated the opportunity to meet candidates and ask questions about our community. Michelle attended every event, standing out for her circumspect demeanor and her ability to provide thoughtful, relevant insights. It was immediately clear that she possessed a deep knowledge of both Newtown’s history and its current policy needs.

Michelle carries herself with a relaxed, quiet confidence. She is refreshingly unassuming — never sarcastic or needlessly outspoken — because she doesn't have to be. Her intelligence and her record speak for themselves. Her commitment to Newtown is evidenced by years of dedicated service across the Board of Education, the Board of Selectmen, and the Legislative Council.

In fact, it was Michelle’s encouragement that led me to run for the Legislative Council. Our conversations felt so natural and encouraging that she suggested I run as well. While I initially declined, her quiet confidence and the information she shared stayed with me. I eventually changed my mind, joined the ballot, and was elected.

Michelle has a unique gift for inspiring others to see her point of view. She builds alliances and consensus. For all these reasons, Michelle is who I want representing us in Hartford, and I am proud to support her candidacy.
