Police Reports, March 27-April 13, 2015
Road Rage
Police report a road rage incident involving two male drivers which concluded early on the morning of April 12 on Great Quarter Road, near the Monroe town line.
Police said the incident involved Richard Desrochers, Jr, 50, of 50 Great Quarter Road, and motorist Matthew Shannon, 19, of 10 Woodbine Lane. The men were strangers to one another, police said.
Both men had been driving pickup trucks before eventually stopping on Great Quarter Road, where they had an argument and physical altercation, police said.
The injuries received were minor and both men refused medical attention, police said.
Police said they charged Shannon with third-degree assault and with breach of peace. Police said they charged Desrochers with breach of peace.
Both men were released from custody on written promises to appear in Danbury Superior Court on April 28, according to police.
Purse Gone
Police said they received a report on the morning of April 11, alerting them that sometime overnight on April 10-11, someone had entered a house on Flat Swamp Road, near its intersection with Poorhouse Road in Dodgingtown, and stole a purse from within.

SUV Off Road
Motorist Andrew Lefferts, 26, of 120 Alpine Drive was driving a SUV on Wasserman Way, near its intersection with Berkshire Road, about 4:30 pm on April 8, when the vehicle went off the roadway and then struck several trees, police said.
There were no injuries. Police said they issued Lefferts an infraction for traveling too fast for conditions and for making a restricted turn.
Warrant
Police report they stopped motorist Nathan Norwich, 20, of 13 Overlook Drive on the night of April 12 to investigate because the vehicle that he was driving had a defective tail lamp.
Police said a records check indicated that there was an outstanding warrant for Norwich.
Police charged Norwich with sixth-degree larceny, second-degree criminal trespassing, and refusal to submit to fingerprinting.
Police said they held Norwich on $1,500 bail for arraignment on April 13 in Danbury Superior Court.
Interstate Accident
State police report that at about 1:38 pm on April 10, motorist Eugene Mason, 54, of 24 Canterbury Lane, who was driving a 2009 BMW Z-4 roadster on westbound Interstate 84, east of Exit 10, attempted to change travel lanes, but struck a 2008 Chevrolet Impala being driven by Patricia Reid, 67, of Bridgeport.
There were no injuries. State police said they verbally warned Mason for failure to drive in the proper lane.
I-84 Collision
Motorist Robert Metcoff, 21, of Roxbury, who was driving a 2014 Subaru Impreza eastward on Interstate 84, near Exit 9, on April 6, slowed for traffic conditions, and was then struck from behind by motorist Arthur Carlucci, 86, of Southbury, who was driving a 2008 Subaru Forester, state police said.
There were no injuries. Enforcement information was not available.
Toyota Vs Toyota
An accident involving two Toyotas occurred on southbound South Main Street, north of its intersection with Meadowbrook Road, about 8:42 am on April 13.
A 2011 Toyota Prius, which was driven by Michael Colucci, 24, of Poughquag, N.Y., stopped for traffic conditions, after which a 2008 Toyota Highlander SUV driven by Lisa Burns, 44, of 20 Parmalee Hill Road, stopped behind the Prius, police said.
Burns, who was driving the Highlander, accelerated and struck the rear end of the Prius, which was driven by Colucci, police said. There were no injuries. Police said they verbally warned Burns for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart and for distracted driving.
Intersection Crash
Police report a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Berkshire Road and Wasserman Way about 7:24 am on March 27.
Motorist Joanna Diletta Vodola, 17, of 9 Meadow Woods Lane was driving a 2004 Honda Pilot SUV westward on Berkshire Road, as motorist Gerard Capaldo, 54, of 2 Harvest Common Road was driving a 2007 Lincoln MKX SUV eastward there, according to police.
As the Lincoln attempted to drive straight through the intersection on Berkshire Road, the Honda attempted to make a left turn onto Wasserman Way, resulting in a collision, police said.
There were no injuries. Police said they issued Vodola an infraction for failure to grant the right of way.
Sandy Hook Theft
Police report that sometime between March 31 and April 13, someone entered an unlocked backyard shed at a residential property on Jeremiah Road, near its intersection with Pole Bridge Road, and stole some power tools.
The burglar stole one Stihl-brand backpack-style air blower and two Stihl handheld blowers, police said. Police are investigating and ask anyone with information on the thefts to contact them at the police station at 3 Main Street at 203-426-5841.
Larceny
Police learned on April 13 that sometime between 5 pm on April 8, and 2 pm on April 9, someone entered an unlocked business van, which was parked at the rear of The Taunton Press at 63 South Main Street, and stole several work-related items from within.
Police are investigating the incident an ask anyone with knowledge of it to contact them.
