Benefit Performance Opening Night—

‘Cash On Delivery’ Next For Town Players

Unemployed for two years, Eric Swan has been making a living by duping local welfare authorities, claiming every type of benefit for the innumerable people he says live at his address. This scam nets him tens of thousands, tax free.

But just when he decides to “kill off” these imaginary benefit recipients because matters are getting a bit too risky, welfare investigators show up at his door. How on earth will he get out of this mess?

Directed by Gene Golaszewski of Bethel, Cash On Delivery! is the next production coming to The Little Theatre.

The Town Players of Newtown production of the British farce written by Michael Cooney will feature Angela Bowman, Shawn Brown, Alena Cybart-Persenaire, Liesbet Higham, Tim Hubenthal, Terry Johanesen, Nick Kaye (Bethel), Ron Malyszka (Bridgewater), Sarah Cameron Nizzardo (Monroe) and John Pyron (Fairfield).

Cash On Delivery! will run May 6-22. Performances are at 8 pm Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 pm on Sundays.

Tickets for all but one performance are $20, $10 for ages 10 and under, payable by cash or check only at the door. Parents should note the play contains adult themes that may not be appropriate for children.

Opening night will be a benefit performance for Newtown Congregational Church. Tickets for that evening are $25, which include wine or soft drinks and cheese beginning at 7:30. The night is being hosted by NCC’s Circle of Hope, and proceeds will benefit the church. Patrons should call the church office, 203-426-9024, for those tickets.

For reservations to other shows and additional information, contact the theater’s box office at 203-270-9144. The Little Theatre is at 18 Orchard Hill Road.
