Hawk Laxmen Topple Immaculate Mustangs

Newtown High School’s boys’ lacrosse team rebounded from an 8-4 loss at New Fairfield on April 18 with a 14-2 triumph at Immaculate of Danbury two days later.

In the win over the Mustangs Nick Stockwell scored three times and had an assist; Charlie Massett had two goals and an assist; John Meade and Billy Massett both scored twice; Marcus Gerace logged a goal and three assists; Andrew Bradley recorded a goal and an assist; Kyle Ruddy, Cole Stockwell, and Marty Dunn had a goal apiece; and Sean Reilly had two assists.

Ruddy, Fisher Stites, and J.J. Haddick all had four ground ball scoops; and Cole Stockwell, Nick Stockwell, Gavin Doyle, Owen Sullivan, Bradley, and Charlie Massett all had two ground balls.

The Nighthawks had a tough matchup at home against Joel Barlow of Redding on April 23 and fell 10-2.

Newtown, following Thursday’s visit to Bunnell-Stratford, will go to Trumbull High for a nonconference tilt on Saturday, April 27 at noon. The Hawks return home Tuesday April 30 at 6 pm for another matchup with an FCIAC squad as Danbury visits the turf back field at Newtown High.
