Blood Drive At NCC, Monday

The American Red Cross will conduct a blood drive on Monday, May 4, at Newtown Congregational Church, 14 West Street.

The event will run from 8:30 am to 6:15 pm. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments can also be made over the weekend by going online to bloodCT.org and then click on the link that says Make an Appointment to Donate Blood.

Donors need to be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds, be in generally good health, and not have donated whole blood within the last eight weeks (56 days) or double red cells in the last 16 weeks (112 days).

“Good health” means you feel well and can perform normal activities. For those with a chronic condition such as diabetes or high blood pressure, it also means you are being treated and the condition is under control.
