Nellie Hudson

Nellie Hudson, 97, of Norwalk, died April 26, in her daughter’s home following an illness. Born in Kimberly, Nottinghamshire, England, on June 22, 1911, she was the daughter of George and Helen (Griffith) Edwards.

She is survived by her daughter, Christine I., and her husband, John DeCola, of Sandy Hook; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She married her beloved husband, Reginald Hudson, Sr, in 1933 and emigrated to the United States, settling in Norwalk in 1949. Her husband of 50 years died in 1983.

Mrs Hudson worked at the former Connecticut Lace Works of Norwalk for more than 20 years. She was also a homemaker, and enjoyed traveling, gardening, reading, and spending time with her family.

Honoring Mrs Hudson’s request, all funeral services will be held privately. Interment will be held in Riverside Cemetery, Norwalk, at the convenience of the family.
