Organic Land Care Lecture

On Wednesday, May 13, The Town & Country Garden Club of Newtown will present a program titled “Organic Land Care” by Newtown resident and master gardener Brid Craddock. The presentation will begin at 7 pm and will be held at Newtown Senior Center, 14 Riverside Road in Sandy Hook.

Ms Craddock will be speaking about how to reduce the use of pesticides and herbicides by being selective about what you plant.

Ms Craddock is well known to many gardeners in the area because she is the owner of Heirloom Gardens, a private nursery and display garden located at 59 Main Street in Newtown.

She began her design career with a degree in interior design and followed her love of nature into landscape design. Ms Craddock then went on to become an expert in fine garden design through working with fellow Newtown resident and master gardener Sydney Eddison in her extensive perennial gardens.

Ms Cradock is current serving as president of the Connecticut chapter of the Association of Professional Landscape Designers (ALPD) and is an accredited professional. She is also a full time landscape designer with Growing Solutions, LLC, an organic land care company.

The program is free and open to the public.
