Save The Lake Day 2009 Needs Volunteers

BRIDGEWATER — Save the Lake Day 2009 will take place Saturday, May 16, from 9 am to 1 pm. The day will start at the Route 133 State Boat Launch.

Save the Lake Day is a volunteer effort to clean garbage and debris from Lake Lillinonah both on shore and in the water. This is the second year for the effort, which was “a terrific success” in 2008, according to the Spring 2009 Friends of the Lake newsletter.

Volunteers are needed to help Friends of The Lake clean Lake Lillinonah of garbage and debris. All volunteers make a difference, whether they walk the shores or go out on a boat. Supplies and food will be provided.

Lakeside residents who are unable to attend can gather trash from the shore near their property prior to the event, and then leave the trash on their respective docks for pick up.

Visit FriendsOfTheLake.org for more information.

For those who would like to volunteer or are interested in becoming a sponsor, contact Friends of the Lake at volunteers@FriendsOfTheLake.org or call 860-210-8064.
