Charles A.       Rotteck, Jr

Charles A. Rotteck, Jr, 92, husband of Marjorie D. (Fige) Rotteck of 75 Coppola Terrace, Derby and lifelong Derby resident, died April 22 at Connecticut Hospice of Branford.

He was born August 3, 1910, in Derby, son of the late Charles and Christina (Baier) Rotteck.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Donald W. Rotteck of Providence, R.I., formerly of Newtown, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother, Elmer Raymond Rotteck.

He worked as a machinist for Farrel Company, Ansonia, retiring in the early 1970s. He served on the board of directors of Oak Cliff Cemetery, Derby. He was a 68-year member of both Derby Fire Department, Hotchkiss Hose Company #1 and Derby Fire Police. A lifelong Boy Scout, he served with  Troop 3 of Derby..

He was also a third degree Mason and member of Derby/Shelton King Hiram Lodge #12 and Immanuel St James Church of Derby. He was also a former historian of the Town of Derby, member of Connecticut Postcard Club

Funeral services were held on April 26 at the Immanuel St James Episcopal Church of Derby. Burial followed in Oak Cliff Cemetery, Derby. The Jenkins-King Funeral Home, 12 Franklin Street, Ansonia, was entrusted with arrangements.
