Two To Receive Honorary Degrees At Teikyo Post

WATERBURY –– Connecticut Supreme Court Chief Justice William J. Sullivan and Julio Coelho, an Enfield thoracic surgeon, will receive Honorary Degrees at Teikyo Post University’s 113th Commencement Exercises on Saturday, May 10, at 1 pm.

Dr Coelho is a member of the American Medical Association, Connecticut State Medical School Society, and the Tolland County Medical Association, and is licensed to practice in Connecticut, Indiana, and Maine. Dr Coelho has hospital appointments in either general surgery or family practice at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Stafford, Rockville General Hospital, St Francis Hospital, and Johnson Surgery Center in Enfield. He has had research presented at the American College of Chest Physicians and has been published in the American Journal of Thoracic Surgery and the Kentucky Journal of Medicine.

Chief Justice William Sullivan was appointed to the Waterbury Civil Service Commission, then became Corporation Counsel for the City of Waterbury and in 1979, was appointed a Judge of the Superior Court of Connecticut. In 1997, he was appointed to the State Appellate Court and two years later, was elevated to the State Supreme Court as a Justice. In January 2001, he was appointed Chief Justice of the Supreme Court by Governor John Rowland.
