Helen M. Saren, 92, of Sandy Hook, died on her birthday, May 2, at her home. She was the wife of the late William Saren. She was born in Swoyersville, Penn., May 2, 1921, a daughter of Peter and Frances (Romanski) Stanishefski.

A longtime resident of Newtown, the Sarens were the owners of the Botsford Drive-In for many years. Mrs Saren was a Communicant of St Rose of Lima Church, and was a former member and treasurer of Botsford Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.

Three sons and their wives, William Saren, Jr and Linda of Sandy Hook, Robert and Sandy Saren of Southbury, and Richard and Dru Saren of Southbury; a sister, Frances Kepish of Exeter, Penn.; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren survive Mrs Saren. Four brothers and two sisters predeceased her.

 A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St Rose of Lima Church, Monday, May 6, at 10 am. Interment will follow in St Rose Cemetery. Friends may call at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, Sunday, May 5, from 5 to 7 pm.
