Choral Society Planning ‘Voices Of America’ Performance

Newtown Choral Society will perform “Voices of America,” a concert celebrating the music of jazz, Broadway, and opera.

Under the direction of Mary Andreotta and accompanied by Phil Crevier, the concert is set for Saturday, May 16, at 4 pm, in the Great Room of Newtown Congregational Church, 14 West Street.

Accompanied by flute, clarinet, trombone, trumpet, bass, and percussion, the concert will highlight the music of Duke Ellington, Cole Porter, Rogers & Hammerstein, and Louis Prima, with excerpts from Gershwin’s Porgy & Bess.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 students and seniors, and will be available at the door and from Choral Society members.
