Viola Morgan

Loved Life

Viola Morgan, 101, a resident of Seacrest in West Haven and formerly of Milford, died April 26, in St Raphael’s Hospital in New Haven. She was born July 6, 1910, a daughter of Elizabeth Taylor and William Kurtzenacker, and spent her early years in Bridgeport.

Her son Richard, and wife Carolyn, of Milford; her daughter-in-law Beatrice Morgan of Sandy Hook; a sister, Irene; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews survive Mrs Morgan.

She was active for 50 years in the Milford community, working at the Oyster Fest and at the polls for the Democratic Party. She was a Lady Lion, and belonged to the Moose Club, where she attended many events with her longtime companion, Frank Wallin.

She was always the life of the party, and loved to hear her grandsons play music. She enjoyed square dancing, and stamp, rock, and coin collecting. She was an avid cat lover, feeding strays around her home.

Mrs Morgan will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

A celebration of her life will take place Saturday, May 5, at 11 am, at Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown.
