She explained that Paint the Town Purple is really an awareness campaign.

“We would like to request local businesses to support our cause,” she added. “Businesses can support us in several ways.”

Those means of support can include:

*Donating a portion of May 13 sales to the Newtown Relay For Life

*Fly purple balloons outside business establishments

*All members of the business agree to wear something purple

*Display Relay promotional posters or decorate store windows with purple

*Restaurants can use purple placements/napkins or prepare a purple dessert

*Volunteers are also asking people to decorate their homes as well

Participants are asked to take a picture of how they are supporting the cause and e-mail it to relayforlifeofnewtown@gmail.com, and it will be considered for inclusion in an online scrapbook, and on the Jensen Tire and Automotive Jumbotron during Newtown’s Relay For Life June 4-5.
