Girls' Track And Field Athletes Sweep Competition In Four-Team Meet

Newtown High School’s girls’ track and field squad defeated each of the three schools it hosted at Blue & Gold Stadium on May 5. The Nighthawks defeated Bunnell of Stratford 94.5-55.5, Brookfield 122-28, and Notre Dame-Fairfield 140-10 and improved to 7-0 this spring. Newtown highlights are as follows:

4x800: 1. Willow Pears, Olivia Caplan, Camryn Cicarelli, Sarah Mawdsley 10:54.2.

100 Hurdles: 2. Makenna Cerney 17.0, 3. Jesse Sailer 17.9.

100: 3. Hailey Conrad 13.1.

1600: 1. Emma Bayuk 5:22.4, 2. Erin Tressler 5:23.5.

400: 1. Jess Keller Newt 61.6, 2. Conrad 62.2, 3. Shelby Tolla Newt 64.7.

300 Hurdles: 1. Cerney 49.1, 3. Lauren King 56.7.
