James A. Myers, 88, of Rochester, N.Y., “The World’s Greatest Unknown Baritone,” died May 3. He was born February 14, 1926, in Chicago. 

His daughters and spouses Katie and Neal Kent of Newtown, Helen and James Harwood of Baton Rouge, La., Mary and Mike McEntee of Rochester, and Margaret and Bob Stilson of Kenmore, N.Y.; and eight grandchildren survive Mr Myers. He was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Jane.

Mr Myers was a proud World War II Veteran, serving as a medic with the US Army.

He was passionate about many things — opera singing, orange popsicles, and endless salad and breadsticks at Olive Garden. Mr Myers adored his family, and was always updating the masses on the latest achievement or anecdote of his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. The family wishes to thank the entire staff of Seabury Woods in Rochester, who became his (and our) much-loved extended family.

Friends may call Friday, May 9,  from 4 to 7 pm, at the funeral home of Alvah Halloran & Son, 2125 Chili Avenue, Rochester. A funeral Mass will take place Saturday, May 10, at 9:30 am, at St Theodore’s Church, 168 Spencerport Road, Rochester.  Entombment will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Rochester.
