To the Editor:

It continues to sadden me that our Board of Education is considering ignoring the recommendation of the expert subcommittee and taking steps to ban certain books in our town.

Though I would expect this behavior in places like Texas and Florida, I find it disheartening to see it in our town.

Hasn’t our school system endured enough over the past 11 years without this distraction?

Please follow the advice of the subcommittee and keep our books where they belong, on the shelves of our education institutions.
