A Note About My Husband, Brandon

To The Editor:

I’m Brandon Moore’s husband, Mike, which means I know him better than almost anyone. I know what drives him, what he values, and the kind of person he is when nobody is watching.

One thing I’ve learned about Brandon is that once he believes in something, he is fully committed. He’s thoughtful, disciplined, and determined. Early on, I assumed things simply came naturally to him. Over time, I realized his success comes from preparation, focus, and hard work long before anyone else sees the results.

We are very different people. I tend to go with the flow, while Brandon is always planning ahead and thinking through solutions. He stays calm under pressure, looks at problems objectively, and focuses on what can actually be done. I think a lot of that comes from his military service and leadership experience.

People may not always see Brandon’s emotional side, but I do. I see it in the way he talks about veterans, mental health, public safety, and the future of this community. Everything he does comes from a genuine desire to help people and leave things better than he found them.

There are definitely moments when I wish Brandon could sit still for five minutes or take one less phone call. But the truth is, he spends so much of his time helping others, whether that’s mentoring younger people, supporting local organizations, or just trying to make someone's day a little brighter.

We will build our future and raise our family here in Newtown. I know with complete confidence that Brandon is exactly the kind of thoughtful, prepared, and caring person I want representing our community in Hartford.
