Fahey Elected To NAPHS Board
Newtown resident Stephen P. Fahey, president and chief executive officer of Hall-Brooke Behavioral Health Services, located in Westport, has been elected to the Board of Trustees of the National Association of Psychiatric Health Systems (NAPHS).
NAPHS, headquartered in Washington, D.C., is a national organization representing the concerns and interests of private and general hospital-sponsored psychiatric delivery systems and behavioral health group practices and has a history of advocating improved care and services for the mentally ill.
Mr Fahey joined Hall-Brooke in May, 2000, taking the helm at a time when the 100-year-old behavioral health institution was looking forward to a new era centered around the opening of a 58,000 square foot hospital in June of this year. With the new facility, Hall-Brooke anticipates an intensified role in educating and informing the community and region on behavioral health concerns, according to Mr Fahey.
Hall-Brooke is affiliated with the Department of Psychiatry of Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Last November, both organizations sponsored a public lecture in Westport on prevention of teenage suicide.
Mr Fahey is a board member of the Westport Chamber of Commerce and serves on the Advisory Board of the Visiting Nurse Association.
